Produced by Alfiii, Multipli is a didactic board game about multiplication, which is the origin of the tournament organized annually, with the name “National Multipli Championship” (Campeonato Nacional Multipli), later appearing as the Multipli-Minute application for iPhone and Multipli for iPad. With the outbreak of Covid-19 it was necessary to rethink the championship in a digital medium. Thus, with the sponsorship of Grupo Crédito Agrícola, Alfiii contacted Caixa Mágica to make this digital transformation possible, taking the opportunity to update the existing application, making it more flexible and enabling its distribution on more platforms.

Together with Alfiii, Ardozia and KotoStudios, Caixa Mágica embarked on a race against time to build a new interface through Unity3D, always keeping the end user in mind (students from the third to the sixth school year), and the design an online system for championship management on different platforms, in which participants were registered.

The Multipli 2020 National Championship took place between the 4th and 18th of July, being played in two stages: regional semifinals, played between participants from the North, Center, Lisbon Metropolitan Area, Alentejo, Algarve, Madeira and Azores; and the Grand Final.

The Multipli project marked a new stage for Caixa Mágica, being the first project carried out in the area of ​​educational digital games.
